EDDL 5131 – W12: Activity 4: Create Interactive Video

Hi everyone,

Learning Outcome

Students will effectively explore Piaget’s four stages of cognitive development.

I chose to create an interactive video using H5P. This was my first time making an interactive video, so I chose to create a video with a simple combination of multiple choice and fill-in-the-blank review questions.

Please watch my interactive video below:

My overall goal of this activity was to provide interesting questions which challenged the thinking of my viewers. I wanted to include questions which demanded some critical thinking and popular culture references such as my referencing of the Operation board-game.

Thanks,

Carson 🙂

  1. Hi Carson
Great job on the interactive video.
The video was well paced for your quiz and I feel it would definitely keep your students engaged.

When I made my interactive video, it was mostly supplemental knowledge and definitions. Your use of multiple choice and fill in the blank is much more fun.
One minor thought – I noticed your incorporation of background vocabulary e.g. in question 3 where you ask students about empathy, although the video did not mention the term. I am wondering if that might be a challenge for the ELL students.
    Overall though — enjoyed it.
    Thanks for sharing.

    1. Thanks for your positivity and helpful attitude Jim. So many of these activities and assignments have been ‘firsts’ for me! I enjoyed the process of creating my interactive video and I agree that making questions that fit can be a challenging task at times. I will definitely take your ELL curiosity into awareness.

      Carson
